China Ship Design & Research Center has delivered its latest fourth-generation 180,000 DWT bulk carrier design, driving efficiency and sustainability in newbuilds for 裕民航運股份有限公司 U-MING MARINE. Ordered through China State Shipbuilding Corporation, the 292-meter vessels feature optimized hydrodynamics, cutting wave resistance in heavy seas and improving propulsion efficiency by over 2%.
Meeting EEDI Phase III and NOx Tier III standards, the design integrates an EGCS for sulfur compliance, aligning with global decarbonization goals. The project expands CSDC’s portfolio in high-performance bulk carriers, reinforcing its role in advancing eco-friendly shipbuilding.
U-Ming, Taiwan’s top dry bulk operator, and QBS of CSSC, a global leader in ore carrier construction, reaffirmed their partnership with this order. CSDC’s innovation continues to support China’s shipbuilding industry in delivering greener, smarter vessels for international markets.
